POSITION INFO:
The Commercial Manager leads and oversees the commercial operations of a company that supplies foundry consumables and solutions in South and Southern Africa.
The key aspects of this role include:
- Sales management
- Customer management including building effective customer relationships
- Marketing and communication
- Leading and managing the team of Sales Engineers and Product Managers
- Product coordination including accurate calculations of delivery times and product launches to customers
- General management and reporting including cost tracking and cost saving initiatives
Experience and Skills required:
- A commercial, marketing or business degree or similar
- Technical background to understand the products and operations
- At least 7 years of experience in a technical/ manufacturing sales environment
- At least 5 years of experience in a sales management role
- Working knowledge of an ERP system and knowledge of the foundry industry is advantageous
This role will suit an experienced Commercial Manager who has a technically sound grasp on either the foundry, mining, automotive or heavy manufacturing production environment. Someone who excels at sales management and is adept at reading the future market through trends, and insights, setting up the pipeline of business for success. A leader who enjoys building relationships with customers and leads their team through action.
