Clothing Factory Manager

SUMMARY:

POSITION INFO:
We are looking for a skilled Clothing Factory Manager to oversee our production processes. As a Factory Manager, you will be responsible for managing a team, ensuring production targets are met, quality control, and operational efficiency.
Your role will involve overseeing production planning, coordinating with various departments, and implementing strategies to improve productivity and performance. Ideal candidates will have experience in the textile/apparel manufacturing industry and possess strong leadership and organizational skills.

***MUST BE WILLING TO RESIDE IN LADYSMITH, KZN OR CLOSE SURROUNDS***

• Manage production processes and ensure targets are met
• Implement quality control measures
• Optimize operational efficiency
• Coordinate with different departments
• Develop and implement strategies to improve productivity
• Provide technical advice on production i.e. bench balance, quality and garment construction methods.

• Liaises with COO regarding the manufacturing of styles according to available equipment and resources.
• Check hourly score sheet and performance board and report same to COO.
• Oversee production is made according to specification by using manufacturing specification and pre-production sample.
• Liaises with production planning so as to assist in the allocation of work according to priorities and line suitability.
• Interacts with Production Manager, cutting room and production planning on available cutwork, trims and other projected orders awaiting manufacture.

• Liaises with Workshop ensuring regular machine maintenance and proper allocation of machinery and equipment.

• Leads subordinates and ensures team effectiveness by applying motivation and leadership principles conducive to sustained good performance.

• Oversee that minimum efficiency level per production line is maintained at100% at all times.

• Oversee that no late deliveries are due to factors within production control.
• Oversee zero losses for style change.

• Oversee despatch, reports, on time delivery, finished goods report and outwork control.

• Maximize 0% Shrinkage

• Liaises with quality management regarding agreed quality standards and procedures formulated to ensure that quality problems are quickly detected and rectified.

• Liaises with quality management and customer auditor in the event of substandard audit.
• Ensure adherence to quality standards by monitoring defects reported and takes corrective action through Production Manager

• Ensure that performance is in terms of the required quality standard.
• Maximum 1% reject rate, 2% repair rate and zero customer returns.

• Take corrective action against subordinates failing to perform against agreed standards by following the Policy on Poor Work Performance.

• Attendance Management, oversees that due process is followed on excessive absenteeism.

• Maintains discipline at plant level and ensures that rules are adhered to through the disciplinary code.

• Monitor that procedural industrial relations are practiced in accordance to company policy.

• Oversees that good housekeeping and cleanliness is adhered to by his subordinates in the work area as per company standard.

• Ensures that the 5S Principles are applied and maintained at plant level.
• Practice safe working procedures.

• Manages factory administration in its entirety which includes the following systems / software:-

• Provides relevant reports to COO.
• Manage and maintain factory cost control, ensure nil variance on consumables budget (needles, etc).
