Job Overview:

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Civil Technician with experience in fibre trenching to join our team in Port Elizabeth. The ideal candidate will have 2-5 years of experience in both fibre and civil work, and a valid driver's license. This role involves executing fibre optic trenching projects, ensuring quality and safety standards are met, and contributing to the successful completion of installations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform fibre optic trenching and installation tasks in accordance with project specifications and industry standards.
• Inspect work to ensure it meets required quality and safety standards; address any issues or discrepancies.
• Operate and maintain trenching and excavation equipment, ensuring proper usage and adherence to safety protocols.
• Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and project progress. Report any issues or delays to the project manager.
• Work closely with other team members and stakeholders to ensure timely and efficient project completion.
• Adhere to all relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations and guidelines.

Requirements:

• 2-5 years of experience in fibre optic trenching and civil work.
• Valid driver's license is required.
• Proficiency in operating trenching and excavation equipment; knowledge of fibre optic installation techniques.
• Ability to perform physically demanding tasks and work in various weather conditions.
• Effective communication skills and ability to work well within a team.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot issues on-site.
