SUMMARY:
An engineering company in the Durban Highway area is recruiting a Civil Engineering Technologist with experience in designing water and sanitation infrastructure, preparing procurement-related technical specifications and providing technical assistance on-site.
Salary range: R35K- R40K Cost to company

POSITION INFO:
Roles and Responsibilities

Client Liaison and Signed Approval (Scope, Time, Budget, Periodic Reporting, etc.)
Statutory Approvals Management (EIA, WULA, Bulk Services, etc.)
Civil engineering design (civils i.e. water and sanitation infrastructure)
Working drawings preparation, including demand calculations, rising mains, gravity pipelines, sewer, and water reticulation systems
Compliance to works specific design guidelines
Tender Document Technical Specifications
Procurement Management (Measurement, Tender Document, Client Approval, Advertising & Briefing, Adjudication, etc.)
Addressing Site Engineering Queries
Stakeholder Management (Wayleaves, PTO, Community Management, etc.)
Contract Administration (Measurement, Payments, Variations, Time, Costs, etc.)
Site Supervision (Quality Control, Statutory Compliance of site team, etc.)

Key Requirements

BSc, BEng or BTech in Civil Engineering
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in design and project management
In-depth knowledge of municipal engineering standards
Proficient in Model Maker Systems or AutoCAD Civil 3D
Good problem solving and communication skills
Project Management skills. Project management certificate advantageous
