Civil Engineer

POSITION INFO:

Designing civil engineering services and exploring alternative solutions to engineering challenges
Assisting in the preparation of technical reports, tender documentation, and quantity measurements
Supporting the compilation of contract documentation and maintaining meticulous records of all design, issue, and construction documents in accordance with company procedures
Managing project staff involved in draughting and providing guidance to draughters, technicians, and technologists
Responsible for designing and coordinating civil infrastructure on medium to large Municipal Engineering projects
Design various civil infrastructure elements including roads, stormwater, water, and sanitation for townships, commercial, and industrial developments
Engaging in site supervision and construction monitoring while ensuring the quality of on-site test results is documented
Exhibit strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration
Prepare detailed reports and presentations as required for project documentation
Upholding ISO 9001 quality assurance standards and staying up to date with relevant design codes, standards, and computer design software
Collaborating with all members of the project’s professional team to ensure seamless project execution
Assisting with the proper archiving of project documentation as per current requirements
Actively participating in the company’s mentorship program to work towards professional registration
Performing additional duties as required by the department manager or project leader

Skills & Experience:
Minimum 5 years in Civil Infrastructure Design
Proficiency in using Civil Designer or Civil3D software

Qualification:
B.Tech or B.Eng/BS.c in Civil Engineering
