We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced Chief Safety Officer to oversee and manage all safety measures and protocols within our coal mining operations.
The successful candidate will play a crucial role in promoting and maintaining a safe work environment, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.

POSITION INFO:
Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement comprehensive safety policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulations and industry standards.
• Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to identify potential hazards and risks.
• Collaborate with department heads and employees to promote a culture of safety and responsibility.
• Monitor and analyse safety data and trends to identify areas for improvement.
• Provide training and resources to employees on safe work practices and procedures.
• Investigate and report on accidents and incidents, implementing corrective actions as necessary.
• Ensure that all safety equipment and gear are properly maintained and used according to guidelines.
• Coordinate with external agencies and stakeholders to stay abreast of industry best practices and regulations.

• National Diploma in Safety Management or equivalent.
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a safety management role within the mining industry.
• In-depth knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations specific to coal mining operations.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills.
• Strong organizational and analytical abilities.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
• Proficiency in the use of computers
