Chief Financial Officer, 5 year contract, East London

SUMMARY:
We are seeking a Chief Financial Officer for a 5-year fixed term contract based in East London, Eastern Cape

POSITION INFO:

Applicants are required to meet the following criteria:

• NQF level 9 qualification such as master’s in business administration or finance OR CA (SA) or equivalent
• 10+ years of working experience in finance of which 5 years must be in a senior leadership role
• Deep understanding of commercial operations and/or business financial turnaround
• Strong ability to link financial strategies to operational and strategic goals
• Strong interpersonal and presentation skills, with the ability to engage with stakeholders at all levels
• Good understanding of the SA Legislative Environment
• Expertise in financial planning, forecasting & analysis
• Advanced knowledge of accounting principles & regulatory standards

• Financial strategy & leadership – develop/implement financial strategies; define/executive strategic initiatives; drive decision-making; lead annual budgeting process; optimize financial performance
• Financial planning & analysis – monitor key performance metrics; analyze operational cost drivers; drive profitability
• Financial operations & reporting – oversee accounting functions and cash flow management, tax aspects and working capital requirements; lead the preparation of AFS and daily financial operations
• Risk management and compliance – identify and mitigate financial risks; implement strategies & systems; oversee audits
• Cost & revenue management – Monitor/control operating costs; optimize operations efficiency; analyse cost variances; oversee rental income streams; facilitate the timely disbursement and collection of loans
• Team leadership and development – oversee and build a high performing finance team
• Strategic growth activities – evaluate opportunities; lead/support due diligence and financial integration; drive funding initiatives
• Technology & systems optimization – oversee financial software and ERP systems; drive digital transformation initiatives
