SUMMARY:
Chef de Cuisine: FMCG Operations

Our client based in the FMCG industry is looking for a dynamic, hands- on and driven Chef de Cuisine to join their team.
The ideal candidate – must be willing to work retail hours, have excellent leadership skills with a passion for training, mentoring and upskilling.

Duties and Responsibilities include but not limited to: -

• Full accountability for the kitchen and front of house areas
• Full staff management – training, mentoring and upskilling, rosters, selection & recruitment, basic disciplinary processes
• Stock Control – Stock counts, stock rotation, portion, wastage and shrinkage control
• Procurement – ordering of stock, receiving and checking
• Menu design – food costing, seasonal menus, promotions and marketing campaigns
• Health & Safety – management and control of all health and safety standards including deep cleaning and daily cleaning of the kitchen
• Food Safety Standards – maintenance of food safety standards, including storage and fridge / freezer management
• Customer Service – must be customer / client centric, accommodating, dealing with complaints / questions – ensure resolution
• Administration – management and control of all administration, daily / weekly and monthly reporting processes
• Any other duties as may be required by owner / management from time to time

POSITION INFO:
Qualifications:

• Matric coupled with a recognized chef diploma
• Minimum 5 years as a head chef within a renowned hospitality property – fast paced restaurant industry
• Fluent in English and Afrikaans
• Fully computer literate
• Strong financial acumen
• Own reliable vehicle
• Passionate with a strong understanding of culinary trends
