POSITION INFO:

COO (Chief Operations Officer)

Salary: R1,7 – 1,85 million

Requirements:

• Grade 12 certificate
• Mine Overseer Certificate of Competence
• Blasting Certificate of Competence
• 8 years' experience as a shift supervisor/miner in the mining industry
• 3 years' experience as a Mine Overseer in the mining industry
• Degree or Diploma in Mining Engineering (advantageous)
• Valid driver's license (Code B/EB)

Responsibilities:

• Overseeing and implementing safety protocols to ensure the safety of all workers in the mine.
• Managing and monitoring daily mining operations to achieve production targets while maintaining quality and efficiency.
• Supervising and providing direction to mining staff, including miners, technicians, and other personnel.
• Ensuring that all mining equipment is maintained in good working condition.
• Ensuring that all mining operations comply with relevant laws and regulations.
• Managing the budget for mining operations, controlling costs, and reporting on financial performance.
• Leading investigations into any accidents or incidents that occur in the mine.
• Preparing and submitting regular reports on mining activities, production levels, and safety incidents.
• Developing and implementing emergency response plans, and coordinating emergency drills and training.
• Identifying opportunities for process improvements and implementing new technologies or methods.
