POSITION INFO:

COO (Chief Operations Officer)

Fourways

Salary: R1,7 – 1,85 million

Requirements:

Grade 12 certificate
Mine Overseer Certificate of Competence
Blasting Certificate of Competence
8 years' experience as a shift supervisor/miner in the mining industry
3 years' experience as a Mine Overseer in the mining industry
Degree or Diploma in Mining Engineering (advantageous)
Valid driver's license (Code B/EB)

Responsibilities:

Overseeing and implementing safety protocols to ensure the safety of all workers in the mine.
Managing and monitoring daily mining operations to achieve production targets while maintaining quality and efficiency.
Supervising and providing direction to mining staff, including miners, technicians, and other personnel.
Ensuring that all mining equipment is maintained in good working condition.
Ensuring that all mining operations comply with relevant laws and regulations.
Managing the budget for mining operations, controlling costs, and reporting on financial performance.
Leading investigations into any accidents or incidents that occur in the mine.
Preparing and submitting regular reports on mining activities, production levels, and safety incidents.
Developing and implementing emergency response plans, and coordinating emergency drills and training.
Identifying opportunities for process improvements and implementing new technologies or methods.
