CONVEYANCING SECRETARY

SUMMARY:
Intro
A dynamic opportunity has arisen for a Conveyancing Secretary to join the Property Team at my clients Cape Town office. This is a key role where the successful candidate will take full ownership of the conveyancing process, overseeing residential and commercial property transfers from start to finish.
 
Key Areas of Responsibility:
 

• Manage the full conveyancing transaction lifecycle, handling both residential and commercial property transfers.
• Accurately prepare files in accordance with specifications and ensure all documentation is in order.
• Administer the conveyancing legal practice on behalf of the Director, maintaining high levels of efficiency and organization.
• Communicate effectively with key stakeholders, including internal teams, banks, the Deeds Office, and external parties.
• Draft legal documents relevant to property transactions.
• Oversee the lodgement and registration of bond cancellations and new bond registrations.
• Manage all financial aspects related to conveyancing transactions, ensuring accuracy and compliance.

POSITION INFO:
Requirements & Competencies

• Matric (Essential).
• Legal Secretary/Paralegal/Conveyancing Qualification (Advantageous).
• 5 years of Conveyancing Secretarial experience (Essential).
• Strong working knowledge of MS Office Suite (Essential).
• Experience with Standard Bank Bonds is preferred.
• In-depth knowledge of conveyancing software/systems such as Lexis Convey, Lotus Notes, E4 (portal-based), and Windeed is essential.
• Exceptional attention to detail with a strong focus on quality.
• Excellent organizational skills and the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
• Capable of working independently while meeting strict deadlines.
• Proactive and driven with a solid understanding of conveyancing processes and documentation.
