Our client is a construction / project management company based in South Africa with some projects in Zimbabwe, established in 2013. They focus on commercial, residential, industrial, and medium-sized projects

Job Description

This is for a very large residential project valued at hundreds of millions of Rand. It is a 3-year contract position.

You will be responsible for:

• Cost Estimation: Calculate the costs of construction projects, including materials and labor.
• Budget Management: Create and manage project budgets to keep costs under control.
• Tendering: Prepare documents for bidding, review contractor bids, and help choose the best one.
• Contract Administration: Manage contracts between clients and builders, ensuring all legal requirements are met.
• Site Measurement: Visit construction sites to measure work done and check quantities for payments.
• Value Engineering: Find cost-effective solutions in project designs without sacrificing quality.
• Financial Reporting: Provide regular updates on project costs and budgets to clients and stakeholders.
• Risk Management: Identify potential problems and create plans to address them.
• Collaboration: Work closely with architects, engineers, and other professionals for project success.
• Dispute Resolution: Help resolve any disagreements about costs or contracts.
• Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all work follows local laws and building codes.
• Sustainability Considerations: Look for and use environmentally friendly practices and materials in projects.

Qualifications

• National Diploma in Construction Management / Quantity Surveying / Building

Skills

• 10 to 15 years’ experience as per the advertised position
• Cross boarder experience South Africa / Zimbabwe
• You must have knowledge of CCS and BuildSmart
• Computer literate in Excel and MS Office
• Valid driver''''''''s licence
• Fluent in Afrikaans and English
