Buyer - International - Food and Beverage Raw Materials - Cape Town

SUMMARY:
A well-established chemical raw material company requires the above to manage their international procurement of food and beverage raw materials to optimize costs, quality, and supplier performance as well as ensure timely procurement of products to meet business requirements ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.

POSITION INFO:
Minimum requirements for the role:

• A minimum grade 12 is essential for this role.
• Previous experience having worked in a buyer / procurement role procuring raw materials or finished products internationally is essential for the role.
• Previous experience having worked for a company who distributes products to manufacturers would be preferred but not essential.
• Previous experience having worked on pastel is preferred but not essential as the company is willing to train the successful candidate on Pastel.
• Must have good Microsoft Office with basic Excel.
• Previous experience working with imports of raw materials is preferred for the role.
• Knowledge of international shipping, import regulations, and logistics coordination is preferred but not essential.
• Must have their own car.

• Managing their international procurement of food and beverage raw materials to optimize costs, quality, and supplier performance as well as ensure timely procurement of products to meet business requirements ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.
• Processing purchasing orders and following up with customers.
• Updating shipping schedules in terms of EDT, ETA and requesting the necessary documents needed for clearing.
• Working closely with the sales team by following up on samples, quotes or any new projects.
• Assisting with the re-ordering of stocks by following up on stock levels and orders needed as well as ordering the correct quantities and obtaining accurate forecasts from customers from the sales team.
• Identifying, evaluating, and negotiating contracts with suppliers and vendors.
• Ensuring timely procurement of products to meet clients requirements.
• Maintaining accurate procurement records, including purchase orders, supplier contracts, and cost analysis reports.
• Assisting with shipping and logistics operations when required to do so to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of products.
• Ensuring proper stock availability based on sales forecasts and customer demands.
• Identifying new product opportunities and working with suppliers to expand product lines.
• Supporting and working closely with the sales teams in terms of product knowledge.
