A fast growing, international defence and space manufacturing company is seeking a Business Development Manager to join their outstanding team.

POSITION INFO:
Responsibilities

• Develop and implement a comprehensive business development strategy for Plant Engineering that aligns with corporate goals.
• Lead the preparation of high-quality proposals and bids for plant engineering projects, ensuring accuracy and alignment with company capabilities.
• Manage client relationships, participate in presentations, and address client inquiries.
• Proactively identify new business opportunities through market research and networking.
• Negotiate contracts with clients to secure favourable terms, while minimizing risks and maximizing profitability.
• Collaborate with internal teams, including project managers, to ensure the successful execution of projects.
• Monitor business development performance, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions.

• NQF 7 Degree in Engineering/Bcom commerce or equivalent qualification.
• Master’s degree in Business Administration (MBA) would be advantageous.
• At least 5 years minimum experience in a business development environment.
• Strong communication, negotiation, and leadership skills, with the ability to motivate teams and manage client relationships.
• A good understanding of plant engineering concepts and technologies, especially in explosive environments.
• Familiarity with SAP and market analysis tools.
• Ability to work precisely and methodically with minimum supervision, self-starting attitude.
• Technical writing and documentation skills.
• Strategic thinking and decision-making.
• Strong leadership and change management skills.
• Excellent communication and active listening abilities.
• Financial acumen and market analysis.

• Be willing to travel domestically and internationally.
