Business Data Analyst

SUMMARY:
We are recruiting on behalf of a leading company seeking a Business Data Analyst to analyze data, generate insights, and support strategic decision-making. The ideal candidate will work closely with stakeholders to understand their data requirements, prepare and analyze financial data, and provide actionable insights that contribute to business performance.

POSITION INFO:

The successful candidate will extract, clean, and analyze financial data from multiple sources using Python, MS SQL, and MySQL while developing and maintaining financial reports, dashboards, and ad-hoc queries. They will optimize complex SQL queries, manage relational databases, and troubleshoot discrepancies. The role requires close collaboration with finance, accounting, and IT teams to deliver insights that support business decisions, as well as presenting analytical findings in clear, actionable reports. Additionally, the candidate will develop automation solutions using Python, enhance process efficiencies, and ensure compliance with data governance policies and financial regulations.

Skills & Experience:
Minimum of three to five years’ experience as a Data Analyst, Business Analyst, or similar role with a focus on financial data analysis.
Advanced proficiency in Python for data analysis, scripting, and automation.
Strong SQL skills, including complex queries, stored procedures, and relational databases (MS SQL & MySQL).
Experience developing and managing financial reports and dashboards.
Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables, VLOOKUP, and data visualization.
Strong understanding of financial statements, accounting principles, and financial metrics.
Experience working with large datasets, data cleaning, and transformation.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to explain complex data to non-technical stakeholders.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Qualification:
A relevant bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Data Science, Computer Science, or a related field is required.
