Building & Facilities Manager – De Waterkant

SUMMARY:
Our client is looking for a Building & Facilities Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations, maintenance, and service provider management at a premium, modern mixed-use building in De Waterkant. This role is ideal for a proactive professional with strong problem-solving skills and a hands-on approach to building management.

POSITION INFO:
Location: De Waterkant, Cape Town
Reporting To: Trustee & Managing Agent
Hours: 08:00 – 17:00 (availability required for emergencies after hours)

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise contractors and service providers to ensure smooth daily operations.
• Conduct regular building inspections, report findings, and manage maintenance tasks.
• Oversee compliance with health, safety, and fire regulations.
• Handle resident queries, implement Body Corporate Conduct Rules, and manage access control.
• Obtain and evaluate maintenance quotes, monitor budgets, and support insurance claims.
• Respond to urgent maintenance issues and emergencies as needed.
• Maintain records, reports, and ensure contractor SLAs are met.

• Ability to work independently and proactively address maintenance issues.
• Hands-on skills to manage minor repairs and maintenance.
• Proficiency in budgeting and contractor negotiations.
