A leading insurance provider is seeking a skilled Broker Consultant to join its dynamic team, covering the Free State and Northern Cape regions. This is an exciting opportunity for a self-motivated professional to build and maintain strong relationships with brokers while driving business growth.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and nurture profitable relationships with brokers to attract and retain business.
- Promote and sell trucking insurance products using a consultative sales approach.
- Conduct risk assessments, underwriting analysis, and recommend alternative structures.
- Provide product training and support to brokers to enhance their knowledge.
- Monitor market trends and competitor activities to identify growth opportunities.
- Assist in forecasting, budgeting, and financial management.
- Maintain a structured branch and broker visitation plan.
Skills & Experience Required:
- Minimum 7 years’ experience in Commercial, Agri, or Trucking insurance.
- Afrikaans - Non-negotiable - Read, Write and Speak
- Strong understanding of underwriting, risk assessment, and claims procedures.
- Relationship management skills with a proven ability to engage brokers effectively.
- Knowledge of heavy commercial vehicle products (advantageous).
- Familiarity with reinsurance principles and treaties.
- Short-Term Insurance NQF 4 or 5 qualification required.
- A BCom degree/diploma or similar qualification would be an advantage.
- Willingness to work beyond standard hours and attend networking events when needed.
