Bridge Team Leader

SUMMARY:
My client has an opportunity for a Bridge Team Leader, the successful candidate will be responsible for leading and overseeing a team of engineers and technicians in the design, inspection, and maintenance of bridge structures. Develop and implement project plans, including timelines, budgets, and resource allocation.

POSITION INFO:

• BSc (Civil Engineering), or BTech (Civil/Structural Engineering), Pr Eng or Pr Tech (ECSA) registration (non-negotiable).
• Registered Bridge Inspector will be an advantage.
• 12 years plus experience in Bridge Design.
• Detailed knowledge of Finite Element Design Software such as Sofistik/Prokon/AutoCAD/Revit.
• Preparation of Contract Documentation, specifications and schedules of quantities.
• Knowledge of SANRAL processes will be an advantage.
• Experience in bridge hydrology and hydraulics will be an advantage.
• Experience in design of feature bridges will be an advantage.
• Conduct regular team meetings to monitor progress, address issues, and provide guidance and support.
• Perform detailed engineering analysis and design calculations for bridge structures.
• Coordinate with clients, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure project requirements are met.
• Prepare and review technical reports, drawings, and specifications.
• Mentor and develop junior engineers and technicians, fostering a collaborative and supportive team environment.
