POSITION INFO:

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Backup Specialist to join our team on a short-term basis. The selected individual requires experience with designing, implementing and managing backup solutions within a complex, large-scale environment. This role is critical to ensuring our customer’s data is safeguarded against loss, meets regulatory requirements, and remains accessible to stakeholders.

Responsibilities:

Minimum of 5–7 years of proven experience working with backup solutions in complex, large-scale environments
In-depth understanding of Windows, Linux, and UNIX server environments
Backup System Design and Administration
Incident Analysis and Resolution
Performance Optimisation
Automation and Scripting
Collaboration with Cross-Functional Teams
Experience integrating Commvault, NetBackup and Veeam with public cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud)
Familiarity with storage technologies (SAN, NAS) and high-availability clustering configurations

3 month contract

Hybrid (Cape Town or Johannesburg)
