Automation Engineer

An electrical engineering firm is seeking an Automation Engineer.

POSITION INFO:
We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated Automation Engineer to join our engineering team. This is an exciting opportunity for an Engineer with a passion for automation, control systems, and improving operational efficiency through technology. You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing automated systems and processes across our production facilities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain automation systems to improve production efficiency and quality.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify areas where automation can enhance productivity and reduce downtime.
• Program, test, and troubleshoot PLCs, HMIs, SCADA systems, and other control systems.
• Develop, implement, and optimize automated test systems, controls, and production equipment.
• Work closely with the production and maintenance teams to identify automation needs and troubleshoot system issues.
• Perform regular system upgrades, maintenance, and improvements to ensure system reliability and performance.
• Analyze system data to monitor performance, identify issues, and suggest improvements.
• Ensure that all automated processes comply with safety, quality, and environmental regulations.
• Create and maintain technical documentation, including system specifications, operation manuals, and maintenance procedures.

• Bachelor’s Degree in Automation Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field.
• Proven experience (3+ years) in industrial automation, control systems, or robotics.
• Strong proficiency in PLC programming (Siemens, Allen-Bradley, or similar), HMI/SCADA software, and industrial communication protocols (e.g., Ethernet/IP, Modbus).
• Experience with control systems, robotics, and automation in a manufacturing or production environment.
• Knowledge of control system design, configuration, and commissioning.
• Proficient in troubleshooting electrical, mechanical, and software issues in automated systems.
• Familiarity with relevant safety standards and industry regulations (e.g., ISO, IEC).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
