A leading investment firm is seeking an Assistant Portfolio Manager (Consumer) to join its dynamic team. This role is crucial in supporting the Head of Equities and Portfolio Manager: Consumer by providing equity buy or sell recommendations to help achieve investment targets. The ideal candidate will also assist in maintaining the firm’s house view on the relevant sector and supervise analysts.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide consumer stock recommendations with a detailed investment thesis.
• Develop and customise valuation models to drive investment decisions.
• Deliver detailed presentations to the Portfolio Manager: Consumer and the Internal Listed Equities team.
• Maintain a keen awareness of portfolio and stock exposures.
• Timely update and maintain valuation models to reflect new market insights.
• Conduct equity market research, evaluate market intelligence, and make stock-specific recommendations.
• Supervise analysts to ensure high-quality research output.

Key Requirements:

Minimum Qualifications:

• B Degree in Commerce, Finance, or Science.
• At least 7 years of relevant experience.
• FAIS representative certification.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Postgraduate degree in Commerce, Finance, or Science.
• CFA / SAICA or similar professional certification.
