SUMMARY:
Our client in Wellington is seeking an Animal Nutritionist/Scientist I – Ruminants (Task Grade 13) to join their team. The successful candidate will hold a relevant agricultural degree, with a post-graduate degree in agriculture (e.g., M.Sc. Agric) being advantageous. A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a similar role within the dairy feed industry is preferred, along with experience in ration formulation for dairy cows. Knowledge of CNCPS biology will be beneficial. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, strong communication skills, and a highly motivated, proactive attitude are essential. Registration as a Professional Natural Scientist (Pr. Sci. Nat.) with SACNASP is required.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Providing technical support to our dairy customers primarily on pasture-based systems through advising on nutrition, feed product choice and pasture management.
• Technical support and training of the sales team.
• Product development and application of current research and new technology in ruminant nutrition.
• Formulating new feeds as well as maintaining formulas of existing products on BESTMIX.
• Identification of and feasibility studies with alternative or additional raw materials.
• General support to all interdependent departments.
• Product registration.
