Duties:

• Oversee the daily processing of banking transactions, including statement uploads and TIA-related general ledger entries.
• Ensure the timely matching and clearing of EFT in/out accounts.
• Manage daily cash planning requirements, including transfers, investments, and disinvestments.
• Drive the bi-weekly accounts payable (AP) payment process to ensure efficiency and timeliness.
• Oversee the valid and accurate processing of local and foreign invoice payments.
• Ensure compliance with VAT regulations for purchases, payments, and intercompany transactions.
• Supervise the timeous allocation of premium and claims recoveries.
• Investigate and resolve queries related to banking, claims recovery, and credit control.
• Review and reconcile bank statements monthly, investigating and clearing reconciling items.
• Oversee AP-related control accounts, ensuring accuracy and timely resolution of outstanding items.
• Drive the cash movement process and ensure completion of the quarterly bank account dashboard.
• Support the year-end financial closing process.
• Collaborate with the Data team on TIA system fixes and enhancements.
• Act as a key point of contact for finance senior management and internal stakeholders.
• Lead and mentor the banking and AP team, ensuring effective task allocation.

• Matric (grade 12)
• BCom Degree in Accounting or related field.

• 3-5 years of experience in an accounting role (experience in insurance or financial services is beneficial).
• Proficiency in financial processes, accounting systems, and software.
• Strong numerical and analytical skills.
• Understanding of financial controls and reconciliation processes.

• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting.
• Leadership abilities with a focus on mentorship and teamwork.
