Job Description:

A prestigious manufacturing concern in the City of Cape Town is seeking a driven and ambitious Accounts Payable Accountant to join their team on a 6 months contract basis. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical accounting skills, problem-solving abilities, and excellent administrative and organizational capabilities.



Key responsibilities include:

• Process invoices and manage payments
• Conduct reconciliations and vendor relationship management
• Identify and implement process improvements
• Handle employee expense claims
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records
• Conduct analytical reviews and provide actionable insights to management
• Assist with year-end audits
• Prepare and submit financial reports to management and stakeholders

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field

• Over 5 years of experience in accounts payable
• In-depth knowledge of South African financial laws and regulations
• Expertise in implementing controls on new systems
• Strong understanding of IFRS
• Familiarity with group structures and consolidations (experience with group entities and foreign subsidiaries is a plus)
• Proficiency in accounting software, especially SAP
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
