Job Description:

A prestigious manufacturing concern in the City of Cape Town is seeking a driven and ambitious Accounts Payable Accountant to join their team on a 6 months contract basis. This is an excellent opportunity to fast-track your career, gain hands-on experience, and thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment while overseeing the full accounts payable function.

The ideal candidate will bring strong technical accounting skills, problem-solving abilities, and excellent administrative and organizational capabilities.

Key responsibilities include:

Process invoices and manage payments
Conduct reconciliations and vendor relationship management
Identify and implement process improvements
Handle employee expense claims
Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records
Conduct analytical reviews and provide actionable insights to management
Assist with year-end audits
Prepare and submit financial reports to management and stakeholders

Qualification:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field

Experience:

Over 5 years of experience in accounts payable
In-depth knowledge of South African financial laws and regulations
Expertise in implementing controls on new systems
Strong understanding of IFRS
Familiarity with group structures and consolidations (experience with group entities and foreign subsidiaries is a plus)
Proficiency in accounting software, especially SAP
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
