Accountant

SUMMARY:
A Company in Gauteng is looking for an experienced ACCOUNTANT to assist with the preparation of JV accounts integrating into their group financial reporting.

POSITION INFO:
Key Result Areas:
- Provide timely financial reports, budgets and forecast.
- Ensure that all financial transactions are recorded accurately on SAP.
- Ensure invoicing are done in accordance to approved budgets.
- Forecasting and cashflow forecast on projects.
- Keeping a record of project expenses, contracts, and other accounting data.
- Analysing and approving vendor invoices and contracts.
- Overseeing the transfer of funds to various vendors and suppliers.
- Track budget variances and monitor expenses.
- Review and approve overhead charges to be applied to a project.
- Review account totals related to assets and expenses.
- Presenting accounts details during audits.
- Assist with clearing standard queries from the audit team.
- Draw up financial statements (trial balance, income statement, balance sheet).
- Comply with relevant reporting requirements.
- Reconcile all balance sheet accounts monthly.
- Prepare and review monthly reserves statement, and review for exceptions.
- Resolve and clear any historical outstanding balances.
- Prepare monthly and quarterly accounting reports for submission to management.
- Prepare (monthly, quarterly and annual) cost forecasts.
- Assisting in month-end and year-end closing.

Knowledge/Education Requirement:
- Grade 12 / Matric with accounting as a subject.
- BCom Accounting or equivalent tertiary qualification.
- Completed articles or CIMA Management levels would be advantageous.
- ERP System knowledge (SAP will be Advantageous)
- 5 to 8 years of experience in finance in a similar role

- Manage site admin where applicable in workstream.
- Work cordially and professionally with internal and external constituents.
