POSITION INFO:

 Job title: Accountant

Overview: Our client in the Food Production sector, in the Cape Winelands, is seeking an Accountant to join their dynamic team.

Key Responsibilities:

DAILY/WEEKLY

Debtors

o Processing of daily invoicing

o Processing credit notes

o Daily follow up on outstanding accounts (COD and accounts)

o Submitting weekly Stucky downloads to the bank for our invoice factoring

o Weekly emails to top customers following week’s estimate order and top up payments

o Filing of customer sales order and invoices

o Daily sales reports for Directors

o Attending customer queries Account and non-account related queries (Daily)

Creditors

o Daily capturing of supplier invoices

o Purchasing foreign exchange contracts

o Submission of weekly BOP to Nedbank

o Processing daily/weekly supplier payments

Cashbook

o Daily processing of cashbooks

o Processing daily and weekly payments to suppliers

o Reconciling cashbooks

o Managing Petty cash

o Managing weekly cashflow budget

Fixed assets

o Maintaining fixed asset register monthly.

o Raising monthly depreciation

o Journalising sales of fixed assets.

Inventory

o Processing daily supplier stock invoices

o Stock journals across departments

MONTH END DUTIES

Debtors

o Monthly reconciling of customer accounts

o Sending customer statements

Creditors

o Monthly reconciling of supplier statements

o Monthly payments to suppliers

Other

o Month end Journals (Stock included)

o VAT return (VAT201) submission and reconciliations to the SARS

o Preparing management pack for Directors

o BEE reports for BEE audit.

o Monthly submission of documents for Nedbank audit

YEAR END DUTIES:

o Preparing all supporting documentation for yearly audit up to financial statement included.

OTHER

o Completing supplier credit application

o Vetting/approving/scanning/filing customer credit application forms

o Prepare sale reports for the sales department when needed.

o Managing the Debtor Insurance portal

o Preparing Monthly BEE audit reports for Peoples Partners and yearly BEE audit

o Managing all debtor legal handovers and follow ups

o Managing all Bank related queries

o Any other tasks given by the Directors

Requirements:

o Accounting qualification

o Experience – minimum 2 years

o Advanced Excel skills

o Experience in Pastel Evolution and Pastel Partner. Pastel Payroll experience will be beneficial.

o Own reliable transport

o Knowledge of stock keeping systems

Location: Franschhoek.

Salary offered: R35 000 – R45 000 CTC per month, depending on experience.

Type: Full time permanent position.
