Accountant – Half Day Position
Our client is seeking a skilled and experienced Accountant, who will be required to work half day to support their financial operations. The ideal candidate will have strong financial acumen, experience in budgeting, financial reporting, compliance, and a proactive approach to managing financial processes efficiently.
Location: Port Elizabeth/ Gqebertha
Job type: Half Day (±4 hours per day)
Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain financial budgets, including income statements and balance sheets.
- Create financial forecasts to support strategic decision-making.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Oversee daily financial transactions, including bank reconciliations.
- Ensure accurate recording of income, expenses, and financial obligations.
- Manage VAT, tax submissions, and compliance with relevant regulations.
- Work with external auditors and regulatory bodies when required.
- Process payroll, employee reimbursements, and statutory deductions.
- Monitor expense claims and ensure compliance with company policies.
- Manage invoicing, supplier payments, and collections.
- Ensure timely payments to vendors and follow up on outstanding debts.
- Provide support in financial analysis, ad hoc reporting, and decision-making.
- Assist with financial due diligence for new projects or partnerships.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in accounting.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Xero, QuickBooks, or similar
- Understanding of South African tax laws and financial regulations
- Experience working in a tech or software development company. - beneficial
