Account Director

SUMMARY:
As our client prepares to scale and grow their business, they are seeking to hire an account director who possesses 2 - 5 years industry experience. This account director would be managing one of the clients' key accounts in the financial services industry. The ideal candidate should have a keen eye for brand and design, and come from a traditional advertising background, with proven exceptional large scale project management experience.  The account director should be an experienced, broadly capable project and account manager who handles a wide range of assignments, projects and/or clients with a high degree of success and independence. They will also have strong client relationships management capabilities.
 
The account director will have demonstrated high-level professional knowledge and skills. They will be able to manage the large key account with minimal top cover from their line manager, the Chief Operations Officer.  The account director will demonstrate the ability and wherewithal to deliver on the client's vision, performance requirements and growth projections.

POSITION INFO:
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES - ACCOUNT MANAGEMENT

• Client relations management
  • End to end client management
  • Internal stakeholder management & effective communication
  • Scope of Work (SOW) development
  • Building sustainable client relationships
  • Client contact reporting & status updates ( both internally & to client)
  • Quarterly client health reports to be completed according to set deadlines
• Project Management
  • Project planning
  • Using internal project management tools ( Magnetic )
  • Project tracking
  • Quality control
  • Project deadline management
  • Project budget management
• One on one team sessions to be held regularly
• Compiles completed timesheets in the first week of every month
• Meets budget targets and tracks financial progress against each client every month
• Monitors relevant news sources on a daily basis
• New business participation should include the following from the AD;
  • Research
  • Attendance at brainstorming sessions
  • SOW preparation and development. Attend and or present to client

• Branding and Design
• Understands business trends in the industries to which he/she consults
• Directs development of range of materials developed by the marketing studio including all design materials and outputs as per the cohort packages
• Efficiently and effectively plans and manages large-scale projects across a variety of B2B clients
• Has strong presentation skills and demonstrated ability to play a leadership role in a wide range of presentation settings
• Anticipates and develops solutions to client needs and problems
• Provides strong leadership in building effective, productive account teams

• Proven account management experience in advertising, branding and design
• Detail understaning of branding and design
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels
• Entrepreneurial mindset with a passion for innovation and social impact
• An understanding of the South African business landscape, including challenges and opportunities specific to SME development and socio-economic growth – Ideal but not manadatory
