ACCOUNTANT

Our client is seeking a meticulous and dedicated Accountant to join their finance team based at their offices in Paarl.

The Accountant will play a key role in overseeing and managing the company’s financial processes, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements, and supporting operational efficiency. This role is integral to the smooth operation of accounting functions across various entities and activities.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

General administration of rental properties, including invoicing, contract renewals, and maintenance.
Management of vehicle licensing and registration, including maintaining vehicle registers and processing forms.
Monthly financial processing, including variance analysis, reconciliations, and reporting.
Processing and overseeing creditor payments, ensuring early payment discounts and accurate documentation.
Managing utility accounts, ensuring accurate payments and balance checks.
Preparing and analysing motor vehicle expenses to support decision-making.
Assisting with annual tasks such as property company audits, VAT submissions, and insurance policy renewals.
Supporting procurement activities, including obtaining quotes and making recommendations.
Administration of payroll contributions and assisting with EMP submissions.

REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Minimum of five years’ experience in a similar role, preferably within the agricultural or related sectors.
Proficient in accounting software systems (e.g., Pastel) and Microsoft Office Suite.
Fully bilingual in Afrikaans and English with strong written and verbal communication skills.
Excellent organizational skills, high attention to detail, and confidentiality standards.
Self-driven with the ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
