Our client is seeking an experienced and results-driven 2G / 3G / 4G / 5G Radio Network Optimization Engineer to join their dynamic team.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
This is an exciting opportunity for a GSM/UMTS or LTE/5G Network Optimization Engineer to contribute to the performance improvement of a major telecom network.
RAN Vendor Competence: Ericsson / Huawei / ZTE / Nokia (specific vendor requirements may vary by country)
Key Responsibilities:
- Performance and configuration data collection, report generation, and detailed analysis
- RF Coverage and Capacity Analysis using Drive Test logs
- Root Cause Analysis for network issues and KPI improvement
- Multi-layer access technology optimization including Concentric Cell Optimization and 2G Spectrum Re-farming
- L3 message collection and analysis
- Frequency Plan Optimization and Interference Matrix generation
- KPI monitoring and trend analysis with reporting to clients
- Antenna parameter optimization (Tilt, Azimuth, Power, Height) based on RSRP, SINR, RSCP, and Ec/No analysis
- Capacity analysis and recommendations for network efficiency
- Spectrum re-farming and frequency plan verification using Operator OSS
- Coordination of ISHO optimization activities
Required Skills & Tools:
- Strong understanding of GSM/UMTS/LTE/5G call flow processes and procedures
- Proficiency in OEM OSS platforms and network management tools (Ericsson, Huawei, ZTE, Nokia)
- Ability to work independently to meet KPI and operational goals
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Basic scripting and macro generation (e.g., Visual Basic)
- Advanced MS Excel and PowerPoint skills
- Proficiency in MapInfo or other GIS tools
- Wireshark (advantageous)
- Experience in generating and interpreting KPI reports, Worst Cell analysis, and implementing corrective actions
Experience Required: 2–5 Years
