Remuneration: R 605 096. 00 TCOE

Our client wishes to appoint a Certification Official at their offices in Christiana
Job Description: Responsible for all aspects regarding certification of seed potatoes e.g. registration of units, field inspections, sampling, tuber inspections and certification of lots.
Administrative tasks, amongst others, include capturing of data.
Qualifications: Diploma or Degree in #Agriculture with #plant pathology as main subject and/or #plant production and/or #agronomy or related fields as main subject
Approximately two years in service training is provided, before a candidate fully qualifies on all aspects of certification.

- High work ethic and principled decision-making ability
- Passion for agriculture, love to work outdoors as a lot of field work is involved, with extended working hours in season and fair amount of travelling;
- Keen interest to learn;
- Candidate must be able to work without supervision and as part of a team;
- Manage own workload efficiently and effectively;
- Sound internet skills and a high level of computer literacy;
- Fluent in English (verbal and written) and Afrikaans;
- May not be colour blind (impacts on visual detection of plant virus symptoms);
- Strong numeracy efficiency;
- Must be physically fit and able to walk in fields during inspections and stand during tuber inspections and lift relatively heavy items;
- Good communication skills as well as good interpersonal relationships are required; and
- Must have a valid driver’s license.
