Pricing Analyst Job Overview

As a Pricing Analyst, you'll be responsible for maintaining price points and understanding the customer base. You'll analyse customer data, run pricing models to determine pricing points, and make recommendations based on your findings. You'll also manage the customer rebates program, including working with suppliers and customers to ensure that rebates are correctly fulfilled.

Responsibilities of a Pricing Analyst

  • Gather data on product sales and prices
  • Analyse the data to determine trends
  • Making product pricing recommendations to management
  • Monitoring the effectiveness of price changes
  • Acting as a liaison between customers and sales management
  • Manage products in a company's database to ensure that they are listed with correct pricing information
  • Work with teams across the company's different business units to implement new pricing strategies
  • Develop reports on performance metrics that relate to pricing, such as revenue and profit
  • Create new pricing structures for products based on the analysis of data

Pricing Analyst Skills & Qualifications

  • A./B.S. in economics, statistics, or a related field
  • Prior experience working with large amounts of data (you should have at least three years of experience as a pricing analyst or data analyst)
  • Some sales, marketing, or another business-related field experience is required
  • Have experience with delivering reports to multiple audiences, including senior management.
  • Ability to use Excel, SQL, and R
