Net Developer Job Overview

The net developer is responsible for designing, building and maintaining software applications. They work with a team to design and implement an application's user interface, database, and server side logic. This includes the analysis of business requirements, development of architectural designs and documentation, coding and testing.

Net developers are responsible for building and maintaining websites. They may work on large projects or smaller ones depending on the needs of their employer. Some tasks that net developers perform include:

Building websites from scratch
Updating existing websites
Maintaining websites by identifying security risks and fixing bugs
Working with other programmers and designers to ensure that the website meets its intended function

Net Developer Roles & Responsibilities

Design and develop new features for existing products and create and maintain new websites/mobile apps.
Analyse information from research and development to identify problems and opportunities for improvement.
Create prototypes or wireframes of new features to be used by designers or front-end developers before writing any code or implementing changes into production environments.
Work with product management to understand requirements for new projects, then estimate time required to complete each project.
Develop and maintain web applications in JavaScript, HTML5, CSS3, and PHP
Design user interfaces that are responsive across multiple devices
Create mobile apps using PhoneGap or other frameworks
Analyse data using SQL queries and NoSQL databases like MongoDB or DynamoDB
Build back-end systems using NodeJS and ExpressJS

Net Developer Qualifications & Skills

3 years of experience as a full-stack developer or similar role at an agency, consulting firm or software vendor
Proficiency in JavaScript and CSS/HTML5
Experience with SQL databases such as MySQL or PostgreSQL is required; experience working with NoSQL databases such as MongoDB is preferred but not essential
Experience working in teams using agile methodologies such as Scrum or Kanban to deliver projects on time and on budget
Experience with NodeJS (or similar framework), Python (or similar language) or Ruby (or similar language)

The following skills are required:

Strong knowledge of HTML5 and CSS3
Ability to write code that functions correctly
Understanding of JavaScript syntax, including jQuery
