SUMMARY:
LOGISTICS COORDINATOR
Bonnievale
 
This position is at a cheese factory in the town of Bonnievale, situated in the picturesque Klein Karoo.
The position reports to the Operations Manager and is a coordinating role, between suppliers, customers, operations, QC, marketing, finance, and depos.
 
 
RESPONSIBILITIES:
 
Co-ordinate:

• Orders, small packing schedules, cheese grading for orders and shipment of orders, delivery schedules and efficient route planning.
• Internal and external communication with Dispatch and Receive Manager, Depo Managers, Marketing staff, Retail DC’s and private customers, about delivery schedules and deviations from schedules.
• Check stock levels of all milk receipts, cheese stock, packing materials (dry stock), chemicals and fuel.
• Weekly reporting of cheese stock levels to OM and monthly stock consumption and current stock levels to FM.
• Assistance and implementation of FSSC2000, documentation and updating of procedures as required by QC department.
• You will also be actively involved in the grading and quality control of finished product. Further responsibilities include serving on the various food safety and production committees.
• Daily checking of all relevant documentation of receipts and shipments.
• Regularly update SLAs with vendors.
• Maintenance of all relevant SOPs for receipt and dispatch.
• Manage vehicle fleet, maintenance schedules, road worthy certificate schedules and licensing.

• Formal training, degree/diploma in logistics and 5 years’ experience, in logistics, dispatch and receive OR
• Qualified by experience, 10 years’ experience in logistics, dispatch and receive
• Experience in the dairy or FMCG industry, will be to the applicants advantage
