My client, a leading and well known Retailer based in Montague gardens requires a competent and experienced IT Manager to join their team.

As the IT Manager, you will effectively manage our IT processes and implement technology solutions that align with our company''''''''s needs.

Your responsibilities will include identifying appropriate systems and applications that enhance organisational requirements and improve employee productivity.

You will work closely with stakeholders to support the organisation''''''''s growth and development. By fulfilling your responsibilities, you will help maximise our return on investment.

IT manager''s key responsibilities include the following:

1. Departmental Needs Assessment and Process Evaluation:

Conduct thorough analyses of each department''''''''s requirements to identify opportunities for improving productivity, efficiency, and accuracy. Regularly evaluate existing processes, technologies, and vendor partnerships to streamline operations and maintain technological competitiveness.

2. Network Integration and Competitor Analysis:

Lead the network infrastructure management, ensuring seamless integration of all components to meet business demands. Stay informed about industry advancements and competitor strategies to optimise network performance and leverage emerging technologies.

3. Cost-Benefit Analysis and Vendor Management:

Perform detailed cost-benefit analyses for necessary upgrades and investments, focusing on functionality, reliability, and scalability. Monitor vendor performance, manage contracts, and handle negotiations and renewals to secure services that align with organisational needs.

4. Employee Training and Technical Support:

Develop comprehensive training programs to empower staff to effectively utilise technology tools. Provide prompt technical support and troubleshooting assistance to ensure smooth operations.

5. Disaster Recovery and Data Security:

Lead the development of robust disaster planning and data backup strategies to safeguard critical information and ensure business continuity. Implement comprehensive IT security measures, including firewalls and intrusion detection systems, while ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.

6. Budget Management and IT Project Oversight:

Manage IT budgets to ensure cost-effectiveness and alignment with organisational goals. Oversee IT projects to ensure timely delivery, adherence to budget constraints, and compliance with required specifications.

7. Team Management and Help Desk Operations:

Supervise the IT team, including hiring, training, performance evaluations, and task delegation. Ensure efficient IT help desk operations for the timely resolution of technical issues and maintenance of an accurate IT asset inventory and software licensing.

8. Strategic IT Planning:

Develop and implement a strategic IT plan that aligns with overall business objectives to drive long-term growth and success.

Job Qualifications and Skill Sets:

· Preferably a bachelor’s degree in IT, computer science, or a related field

· A minimum of 5 years of experience in hands-on IT management

· Willingness to be deeply involved in systems problem resolution

· Ability to work with a small, dedicated IT team

· Ability to communicate clearly with external systems suppliers

· Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and senior leadership

· Strong teamwork and communication skills

· Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills

· Knowledge of industry-standard computer hardware and software systems

· Experience with network administration

· Experience managing on-premises servers, storage area networks (SAN), and network-attached storage (NAS) devices

· Experience with e-commerce platforms and technologies

· Familiarity with our software platforms including Microsoft 365 (e.g., Power BI), AWS Cloud

· Strong understanding of data governance, analytics and BI

Further Responsibilities:

· Monitor uptime of existing systems & and communicate resolution plan when failures occur

· Ensure the reliability, security and scalability of the company’s technology infrastructure

· Assist the IT department head in planning the installation and maintenance of computer systems, hardware, software, and networks

· Lead IT projects and oversee the implementation of new IT initiatives ensuring they are done timely, cost effectively and meets the business needs.

· Develop and implement policies related to network security, disaster recovery, and IT infrastructure

· Analyse IT resource utilization and develop strategies to optimize performance

· Establish, measure, and define IT goals to maintain the IT roadmap

· Monitor and analyse the success of IT initiatives and projects and continually evaluate new technologies and tools for the company

· Manage development projects to integrate new technologies into existing systems

· Perform ongoing support and maintenance of all hardware, software, and network components via internal and external support structures

· Establish a security policy to protect company information and resources

Team Leadership & development:

o Lead and mentor the IT team, providing guidance and fostering professional growth.

o Ensure the IT department operates efficiently, meeting service levels promptly.

o Direct the activities of the help desk to ensure the IT needs of users are met.

o Determine the needs of and co-ordinate the training of IT staff
